Bloomberg paid fines for 32,000 Florida criminals so they could vote

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg raised over $ 16 million to help convicted criminals in Florida vote in elections.

Bloomberg's fundraising campaign has already paid off the liabilities of 32,000 criminals, Axios reported.

“The right to vote is fundamental to our democracy, and no American can be denied this right. Bloomberg's spokesman told a news agency. «Working with the Coalition to Restore Rights, we are determined to end the electoral abuse and discrimination that has always driven it.»

Florida passed a law in 2018 that inmates can only register to vote if they pay all fines, fees, and restitution — sometimes totaling more than $ 1,000.

Although Bloomberg ran for the Democratic presidency, he later pulled out of the race and supported Joe Biden, and donated at least $ 100 million to the former vice president's campaign.
