New Hampshire woman pretends to be a prosecutor to drop charges against herself

A New Hampshire woman is accused of posing as a prosecutor and falsifying documents in an attempt to prove she was cleared of charges.

An indictment, obtained by The New Hampshire Union Leader, alleges that 33-year-old Lisa Landon presented false documents to court officials in three cases last year, claiming that drug possession and stalking charges were dropped.

Landon used the government's electronic filing system to create forgeries, according to the newspaper.

Hillsborough County attorneys became suspicious when they learned that a state medical examiner was required to conduct an assessment of Landon's competence. After a short investigation, prosecutors quickly discovered that several documents had been fraudulently filed.

According to the court, Landon also forged documents to terminate the custody of her child.

The women were charged with falsifying identities and evidence. Presumably, she also faces burglary charges.
