In Texas, a reward will be provided for information about violators of the new abortion law

From September 1, in Texas, for information about women who want to have an abortion after the sixth week, you can get a reward of $10 thousand-after the state legislature passed the heartbeat bill, according to UNILAD.

The law will allow anyone to sue private medical companies and health workers for providing abortions after a heartbeat is detected in the fetus, as well as anyone who contributed to the procedure. A citizen who does not have to live in Texas can receive up to $10 thousand by reporting such a case.

Critics who point to the ethical side of the issue want this law to be changed before it comes into force in the fall.

Washington Post writer Jennifer Ruby noted: «Think about the possibility of harassment, espionage, extortion and other vindictive behavior against women. The law is based on what others know about her reproductive health, and on what they are willing to report to the authorities for a reward of $10 thousand.»

This is Talibanism. Are Texas conservatives going to be spying on women of childbearing age and turning them in for the bounties?

«Now the Texas Republicans are setting a reward for pregnant women. MSNBC host Joy-Ann Reed added — » I’m afraid to imagine that this party, mired in darkness, will come up with something else.»

«It’s like the Taliban.»

In May, Governor Greg Abbott signed a law banning abortions after six weeks, although there are some exceptions to it. In the case of a medical emergency, a woman can terminate her pregnancy — however, not in the case of pregnancy due to rape or incest.
