The administration of President Donald trump is considering reducing the issuance of visas for programs of student exchange, as well as in the field of culture and seasonal work in the USA, including the well-known program Au-Pair.

It is reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing its own anonymous source.

Note that this decision is connected with the promise of a trump, which he gave during the election campaign to hire Americansand not seasonal workers from other countries.

Wall Street Journal adds that the new restrictions may relate to five types of visas, including J-1 visa (educational programs and cultural exchange).

According to the publication, this decision, if adopted, will affect more than 100 thousand people, mostly youth.

It is unknown how will be the limit, as the trump has no powers to cancel, for example, a J-1 visa. But probably can be canceled short-term exchange programmes or tightened requirements for visa recipients.

According to the U.S. Department of State, program J-1 visa has 15 categories, which provide «opportunities for 300 thousand foreigners a year to learn the culture of the United States».

While in the state Department and the press service of the White house has not commented on this information.
