Forget boring cinema, at least for this summer. Finally the time has come when in the parks and on the roofs appear open-air cinemas, many of which are still free. So, gather friends, pack your blankets and picnic baskets and head out to watch your favorite movies in the company of people close to you. We, in turn, will tell you where it can be done.
Summer Movie Under the Stars
Prospect Park in cooperation with the cinema Nitehawk created a beautiful project at Long Meadow North. Park visitors can enjoy live music from local bands and DJs starting at 7pm to start watching family films:

HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival
A joint project of Bryant Park and HBO is one of the most popular series of film screenings in the Big Apple. This year’s program includes classic movies, to see which are available on Mondays starting June 19:

July 3: «Sabrina»;
July 17: «wall street»;
July 24: «the Phone in half»;
July 31: «Crook»;
7 August: «All that jazz»;
August 14: «North By Northwest»;

McCarren Park SummerScreen
This season the event program SummerScreen in McCarren Park is very diverse, so anyone will be able to choose for themselves something suitable. Go to the Park around 6 PM to get a good seat. Themselves the screenings start at sunset.

Brooklyn Bridge Park
The open-air screenings return to Brooklyn Bridge Park on 6 July. Enjoy the sunset, city views and favorite movies will be every Wednesday for seven weeks. Before the screenings, visitors can attend a special party with DJs, food and beer bar.

Socrates Sculpture Park
Unlike other similar events, movie screenings in Long Island City park dedicated to foreign films, allowing the citizens to join the world of global cinema. As always, sessions start at sunset.
