As became clear from the court records, Arnston for 20 years suffered from alcoholism and was never caught. Most of this time he regularly sat behind the controls of an aircraft Alaska Airlines with passengers on Board. Fortunately for them, a drunk pilot delivered the aircraft to the destinations without incident.

After the exposure, Arnston lost his pilot’s license, and now he was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment and three years probation. Originally it was supposed to go to jail for 15 years, however, the term cut in accordance with the plea of guilt.
