Ukrainian restaurant Veselka for over 60 years can be found at the same address: The East Village on the corner of Second Avenue and 9th street. But this year the dumplings according to the traditional recipe and authentic soup you can taste not only familiar to new Yorkers.

This week food court Market Line on the Lower East side has announced its first nine contractors, the list of whom joined the famous Veselka.

«We look forward to the opportunity to be in the «epicenter» of the culture and history of immigrants… and become part of the ever-changing culture and development at the Lower East side», – said the owners of Veselka Tom and Jason Birchard.

Open Market Line became possible due to the decision taken in September 2013 by the administration of mayor Michael Bloomberg. Then it was a question that will be erected on the site of the demolished in 1967 of apartment buildings. Three years of discussions and debates led the team of the mayor to the idea of creating a complex called Essex Crossing.

The official opening glass of the complex must pass this year. On-site Essex Crossing will be located in retail markets, restaurants, offices, theater, parks, Andy Warhol Museum and 1,000 apartments.
