New York travelers-novices rely free camping and travel gear

If you have never stayed outdoors in a tent, it’s time to start. This season, from 10 may to 26 August, for beginners everything is absolutely free — from camping to sleeping bags.

The goal of the program acting only on the territory of the state of new York and only for local residents, is to give inexperienced travelers a chance to try the rest of the savage without having to spend money on their own equipment.

In this type of tourism there are nuances, without which knowledge a camping trip can bring a lot of inconvenience. To latter-day travellers got away with it, their place will meet the instructor and will teach all the necessary skills.

Each group of holidaymakers rely:

  • tent
  • sleeping bags,
  • portable chair
  • soup kitchen,
  • flashlight,
  • firewood.

With you they will take only food, water, warm clothes and insect repellent.

The project operates on the territory of 13 new York camping and national parks on the weekends. To participate you must register on the website of the Department of environmental protection (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation). Places are limited, so they will be drawn between the candidates in random order.
