Music piano on the 9/11 Memorial Plaza, free lessons guitar on Union Square and much more: today the new York sound thanks to the music festival Make Music, timed to the summer solstice.

Music events and workshops will be held in all five boroughs of new York city as part of a nationwide day of Make Music Day.

The first festival was held in 1982 in France called Fête de la Musique. Currently it is held annually on June 21 in more than 750 cities in 120 countries. Make Music Day is celebrated in more than 60 other U.S. cities, including Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Make Music open to all, anyone can take part in it. No matter the age or skill level of participants or their musical preferences. The main thing that in soul you was music, which you are willing to share with friends, neighbors and strangers.
