The most popular wrestler brought collaboration with the Iron Sheik with the Iranian Hossein Vaziri. They both acted in the role of healers — negative characters. Before each match, the Sheik shouted: «Iran number 1, Russia number 1», and Volkoff sang the Soviet national anthem, what really irritated the audience. In the midst of the cold war, wolves, clothes with Soviet symbols and Soviet flag in hand, was in professional wrestling one of the most hated figures.

«My best friend. My partner. My brother wrote on Twitter, the Iron Sheik. — I trusted him with my life. He took care of me when I was broken. I’ll miss you always.»
