Many of us have heard hundreds of success stories when people use their talent or by accident, have achieved great heights in any field of activity and financial position.

Unfortunately, we know much less about the people who not only changed their lives for the better, but also found time to help others. Such person is Ken Leslie, a former homeless man, who managed to survive the tough times and managed to create something Grand.

Once upon a time a man appeared at the threshold of poverty. Money is desperately short, and the number of problems every day increased. In the end, he was on the street and was forced to live in a homeless shelter. The majority of people this situation depressing, from which they have not chosen.

But Leslie was a man with a different spirit. Realizing the need to fight for his fate, he never stopped looking for an opportunity to return to a normal life. In the end, the man not only built a career as a comedian, but managed to succeed in the business sphere.

Six years ago Ken Leslie realized that he is able to help others who find themselves in difficult life situations. His attention was attracted by a frightening statistic which States that in the U.S. more than 40 thousand veterans are homeless. The man decided to change this situation and to give at least some of them hope for a better future. So there was a charitable organization Veterans Matter (VM).

The first thing Leslie has focused on Ohio, where he helped to obtain long-term housing for 35 veterans. However, he soon realized that the need to expand the field of activity of the VM. In just a few years the organization has acquired the status of a national and brought to the above-mentioned matter to the attention of the stars of show business, businessmen, sportsmen, government agencies and politicians.

Over the 6 years of its existence, Veterans Matter has provided assistance to 2.6 million veterans. In more than 90% of the cases the people were able to live in normal conditions, and found decent support.

«I know… So hard to believe that I have an apartment and the key to it lies in your pocket. I know where I’ll sleep tonight. It seems that the weight of long years of homelessness finally lifted off my shoulders,» says one of the veterans who received a chance at a new life.

The activity of the VM over time attracted the attention of the Ministry of veterans Affairs (United States Department of Veterans Affairs, VA). In the end, was signed a cooperation agreement, whereby the organization went global. Until the end of the year, the representatives of VM intend to provide housing for 400 people, and further the brainchild of Ken Leslie is going to double the amount of aid to needy heroes.

Among the celebrities who participate in the activities of the organization, including the members of the band ZZ Top, kid Rock, George Thorogood, Katy Perry, Willie Nelson and many other representatives of show business. Every year the number of people willing to help veterans increases.

According to Ken Leslie, he even could not think that his project will grow to nationwide proportions. The man is sure: never give up in any situation it is necessary to move on.
