The police Las Vegas (NV) formally asked the famous Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo a DNA sample during the investigation of rape.
Police are investigating a claim by former American model — 34-year-old Katherine smacked silly by Mayorga that in 2009, the star football player raped her in a hotel room in Vegas, and paid for her silence.
The lawyer footballer Peter S. Christiansen noted that no rape charges Ronaldo will be charged.
«Gathering evidence is a usual practice of any investigation, — the lawyer told. Mr. Ronaldo always said and says now: what happened in Las Vegas in 2009 was consensual. Query DNA is a standard procedure during such an investigation».
The rape of Catherine Mayorga said in June 2009 and passed a medical examination to collect DNA samples. After some time, the case was closed because, according to police in Las Vegas, Mayorga, in his statement, the assailant was named «European footballer», not saying his name.
The investigation was reopened in 2018, when Mayorga revealed the details of the incident. According to her, the silence she got from Ronaldo $375 thousand.
When will be known the results of the DNA examination are not yet known.
