Between Manhattan and Newport again will go to the NY Waterway ferries

This summer ferry service NY Waterway between Manhattan and Newport in Jersey city (NJ) will resume, — said the representatives of the company Newport Associates Development Company.

The press Secretary noted that this step is dictated by the increased demand for ferry service. Over the past few years in Newport appeared more than 1,000 new residents.

Ferry service between Manhattan and Newport ceased at the end of 2013, when representatives from NY Waterway said about the «deteriorating condition» of the pier. Was offered an alternative site and NY Waterway has applied for the necessary permits, but the ferry company refused to build a new terminal.

Authorities of Newport assured that local residents will receive discounts on one-way tickets.

The one-way tickets on the NY Waterway ferry are $9 on weekdays and $7 on weekends. A ticket for 10 trips will cost $84,50.
