HBO, which released one of the most iconic TV series of the XXI century — «Game of thrones» showed the teaser to my new creation — mini-series «Chernobyl».
The series, which tells about the events of April 26, 1986 in Pripyat, created by HBO in collaboration with the British network Sky. The script for the movie was written by American Craig Mazin, previously known for their work in Comedy films («scary movie 3», «scary movie 4», «Bachelor party 2: From Vegas to Bangkok», «the Hangover Part III» and «unconscious»).
The main role in «Chernobyl» — namely, the Soviet chemist Valery Legasov, will play British actor Jared Harris, who was turned into Professor Moriarty is the main antagonist in the film «Sherlock Holmes: a Game of shadows». Also on the show starred Emily Watson, Stellan Skarsgard and Jessie Buckley.
«The series tells the dramatic story of a nuclear accident 1986 — one of the worst man-made disasters in history — and the sacrifices made to save Europe from the consequences. The premiere will take place in may of this year,» reads the YouTube channel of HBO.
Almost all the shooting for the series took place on the territory of Lithuania and partly in Kiev. According to IMDb, the series will be five episodes. The premiere is scheduled for may 6, 2019.
