Stress before the flight? Mumps therapist Lila’s to the rescue.

Pigs may not fly, but Leela, pig-therapist wants to make plane travel less stressful.

Leela, a 5-year-old dwarf domestic pig and its owner Tatiana Danilova are part of the Wag Brigade San Francisco, a program that allows you to invite animal therapists to the airport to comfort the passengers and to allow them to forget about their worries during the flight.

Dressed in a cap of the pilot and painted in bright red color claws, Leela goes through a metal detector and goes to the gate. She raises a hoof, greeting passengers, posing for selfies and entertains people with the melody of his toy piano.

«People are happy to be distracted from the need to fly on an airplane, regardless of whether they fly on a business trip or on vacation,» — says Tatiana. «Everyone is usually very happy and it allows them to stop for a second and smile and say «how wonderful»».

When she’s not entertaining passengers at the airport, Lila is living with Tatiana in her apartment in San Francisco, where he enjoys a diet based on organic vegetables and protein pellets sleeps in his own bed every day and goes for a walk around the neighborhood.

Tatiana says that Leela loves to communicate with people.

Airport 8-year-old Katie Schroeder from San Ramon, California screamed with delight when Leela started to play a melody on your piano. «I never saw pigs at the airport. She performs tricks like a dog,» says the girl.

Manager on work with passengers of the airport Jennifer Kazarian says that Leela is the world’s first pig therapist at the airport Wag Brigade program, which includes dogs of all breeds and sizes, allowing to create a sense of community in the airport.

«When we launched the program, our main goal was to de-stress passengers. However, we were able to establish communication with passengers and it was absolutely fabulous,» said Kazarian.

All therapy animals are trained in San Francisco SPCA. They must have a calm temperament, excellent manners and friendly nature.

As for the small «incidents», Kazarian explained that such problems did not arise. All animals, including Leela, are accustomed not to spoil in the room.
