For the first time Miss universe, Miss USA, Miss America and Miss Teen USA have become African-American

For the first time beauty pageants , Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America and Miss universe was won by black women.
Sunday in Atlanta was crowned Miss Universe, which was Zesibini Tounsi from South Africa.

Miss universe is struggling with gender-based violence

26-year-old Zesibini Tounsi from South Africa started a campaign on social networks against discrimination on grounds of sex.
At the contest «Miss universe» Tounsi told that she doesn’t fit conventional standards of beauty and therefore encourages women to love themselves for who they are.
«I grew up in a world where a woman with my type of skin and hair has never been considered beautiful. I think today it is time to stop. I want the kids to look at me, their faces reflected in my,» said the new Miss universe.

Miss USA helps prisoners

Having received three degrees in two universities, 28-year-old Chelsea Krist worked as a lawyer with a mission to help reform the justice system of America.
A native of North Carolina, Krist works in civil proceedings and wish to help prisoners who could be sentenced to an unjust punishment, to free help.
Crist licensed to practice in two States, received a law degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Wake forest University and received her bachelor’s degree at the University of South Carolina.

Miss Teen USA defies the norms of a beauty contest

18-year-old Cali Harris said that when I started to compete in the contest, then realized that she needed to deal with standards of beauty.
According to her, told her she needs to get her curly hair or even to straighten them, but the girl ignored the criticism and won the title of Miss Connecticut Teen USA, with natural hair, and then Miss Teen USA.

Miss America says that music helped her find herself

According to 23-year-old native of North Carolina, Nia Franklin, she found her identity through music.
«I went to a «white school», there was only 5% minorities, and I felt at ease because of the color of the skin. But, as an adult, I found myself in art. Music helped me feel better,» Franklin said.
At the competition, the girl showed his passion for music when she sang «Quando m’en vo» from Puccini’s «La Boheme» and was crowned «Miss America.»
Nia Franklin is working with Sing for Hope, a non-profit organization focused on helping people through the power of music.
