A resourceful neighbor, saved from certain death dog, whose leash stuck in Elevator door (video)

The man rescued pet of a neighbor after Monday his leash stuck in Elevator door and surveillance camera located in the house, captured the moment rescue dog.

Johnny Mathis (age 27) was returning home from Houston, Texas and have just parked your car in the underground Parking lot of an apartment complex. Johnny lives on the first floor of the house, and he went into the Elevator from the Parking garage to the first floor. When he came out of the Elevator, he tried to enter the girl with the dog.

«When she got into the lift, I looked at her dog because it is cute dog,» he told johnny to CNN. «I noticed that the leash was long enough, but I didn’t think that the dog will not have time to get on the Elevator or something like that.»

In the 39-second video that johnny posted on Twitter, you can see how he gets out of the Elevator, but quickly returned to help the dog breed Pomeranian, when I noticed that the owner is not, and the dog was left outside alone.

Johnny said that he shouted to the woman «Hey, your dog!» when he noticed that Spitz did not get on the Elevator.

«I have instinct, I just grabbed the leash» — he said. «Dogs have pretty thick hair, so it took me some time to unfasten the leash from the collar. When I did, I let go of the leash and the video shows he jumped to the top of the Elevator doors».

As soon as the Elevator door closed, johnny said that immediately he heard the hysterical cry of the mistress of the dog. In that moment, when he freed the Spitz off leash, Matis said he continued to Bang on the Elevator door to let her know that the dog is safe, but he believes that she didn’t hear him.

He added: «She thought of the worst that the dog died.»

When the owner of the pet returned to the first floor, johnny said she was very grateful, but still obviously upset and could not stop crying. «I think she just said «thank you» and we hugged, but she was filled with emotions,» he added.

Mathis had not seen her since, but she thinks she just moved in an apartment building, so he’s not sure if she knew how to work the Elevator, but he just said that to assume that any of this was happening, it was impossible.

The day after the incident he went to the office of the company managing the building, and explained what happened. They reviewed video from surveillance cameras and several times he rewound, not believing that the dog was able to survive.

Mathis was glad I could help, and said that this could happen to anyone – a great example of how important it is to be in the right place at the right time.
