According to the man, damaged items worth about 140 pounds, and the airline initially offered him only £ 57.50 or EasyJet voucher worth £ 70.

In addition, Richardson noted that all this «red tape» with the compensation lasted for a month.

«They did this to my bag, and after a month all I have is the cost of a new suitcase and offer two times cheaper than damaged items. Their policy clearly is to to obstruct the recovery of the value of things in such cases,» said the man, posting pictures in social networks.

«EasyJet apologizes to the passenger. The company reimbursed Mr. Richardson the cost of his bags and offered compensation for damage to his clothes. We investigated the incident with our partners in the ground handling in the airports of Manchester and Arrecife. EasyJet makes an average of 1,500 flights a day to more than 30 countries, and the number of cases of damage is extremely low. Our team contacted Mr Richardson to give one more gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience», — said the representatives of the low-cost airline.
