The man rushed over the side of a cruise ship from the deck of the 10th floor

Rescuers found the body of a man off on Wednesday, January 22, from the deck of the 10th floor of a cruise ship, moored in Puerto Rico.

The representative of the coast guard Ricardo Castrodad told the Associated Press that the ship was in the Bay of San Juan, when a passenger fell overboard.

The press-Secretary of company Royal Caribbean Cruises said that footage from surveillance cameras show that the man «intentionally» jumped overboard.

«We help the authorities in investigating the death of a guest in San Juan, Puerto Rico — said in a statement, Royal Caribbean Cruises. The video shows that the person has committed an intentional action, jumping from Oasis of the Seas. Our hearts and thoughts are with his family and loved ones.»

The name of the deceased is not yet released. According to one of the passengers, soon after the tragedy occurred, the crew of the ship gathered all the guests for a roll call in an attempt to identify a person who has fallen overboard.

The U.S. coast guard has established a safety zone, not allowing any vessel to enter the port or leave until the investigation is completed.

The incident occurred few weeks after the man from Indianacharged with negligent homicide after the fall of his 18-month-old granddaughter from the open window of a cruise ship Royal Caribbean in Puerto Rico, said that he would reject any plea of guilt.

Chloe Wigand died in July last year, dropped out of the window of the 11th floor liner Freedom of the Seas.

Chloe’s parents filed a lawsuit against Royal Caribbean Cruises last month, accusing the company of negligence, as the children’s play area was a window open.

Earlier this month, Royal Caribbean responded with a lawsuit of its own, laying the blame for the fatal fall of a little girl on her 51-year-old grandfather, Salvatore Anello.

«He leaned out the window for a few seconds, then lifted Chloe to him. Then she fell,» said cruise operator when filing a claim.
