A former pilot quit my job and sold the property for traveling with your ferret

The young pilot had left his job for traveling the world: he sold almost all his possessions and went in the van with his best friend.

25-year-old Charlie Hammerton decided to go on a journey after the deaths of several dear people for him. Over the years it has lost a best friend, mother and stepmother. Having experienced a strong shock, he decided not to postpone life for later and decided on a serious step. Charlie left the post of pilot of the armed forces, sold their three cars and other valuables, collected 19.5 thousand dollars and bought a van to travel. Everything was ready to go.

However, Charlie wasn’t traveling alone on a long 8 month trip he was accompanied by his «best friend» — a ferret named Bandit. Their path ran from the South of Italy to North Norway and covered 11 countries.

«Travel was the most amazing experience of my life and gave me a feeling of complete freedom. We followed the sun around the world, camped under the stars in amazing places.» says Charlie. «It was fine, and I survived it with my best friend. I now have less money, but I’m much richer as a person.»

Charlie and Bandit was found in 2015, when the former pilot took the ferret from a shelter. Since then they are inseparable, the Thug even had his own bed at the air base, where he worked for Charlie.

«Several times I thought about suicide. I didn’t know where to turn. I took a lot of courage to do what I did. At the time I lived in a nice apartment, had a good job and three cars.» — talks about his life traveler. «I decided to get rid of everything and went with the Bandit.»

During their trip, the friends visited Scotland, Holland, Germany, Sweden, France, Spain, Norway, England and several other countries. Now Charlie is writing a book called «Before our adventure,» which tells the story of how he survived the terrible moments in life. In his book, the man wants to tell that everyone can cope with difficult trials.

«I was haunted by a series of terrible events. Had every reason to feel miserable, but I decided I didn’t want to live like that. What happened does not define me. I turned negative energy into a positive experience.»
