I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here: https://t.co/hVkUczDQmz

43-year-old Dorsey added that after defeating the pandemic, the focus of the work of the Fund will be moved to the projects in the field of health and education for girls, as well as the implementation of the concept of unconditional basic income.

It is known that the first $100 thousand has already been transferred charitable organization America’s Food Fund for the project on the provision of food to people affected by the pandemic coronavirus.

«I hope that it will inspire others to do something similar. Life is too short so let’s do our best to help people,» said Jack Dorsey.

According to Deadline, the gesture Dorsey may be the largest private donation for a global goal since, as CNN founder Ted Turner donated 1 billion dollars to build the Foundation of the United Nations in 1997.
