JetBlue became the first U.S. airline demanded that the passengers wore masks in flight to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The new policy comes into force on 4 may after the airline began to require that all crew members wore masks on the flight.
«Wearing a mask doesn’t protect himself, and protect the environment, said Joanna Geraghty, President and chief operating officer of JetBlue. Is a new flight etiquette. Passengers should wear protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, during check-in, boarding, in flight and landing.
The airline also said that requests customers to follow the recommendations of the CDC at the airport.
Small children are exempt from this requirement.
In JetBlue did not specify whether to grant the airline safety gear to their passengers.
Earlier in the day, the company American Airlines has announced that it will provide passengers with face masks and disinfectant wipes. However, the airline makes masks mandatory for all passengers.
Delta Air Lines offers passengers the mask from Tuesday, April 28.
Recently, a passenger of American Airlines described as flying on the completed flight from Miami to LaGuardia (new York), and only half of her fellow passengers were wearing masks.
