The Senate once again failed to repeal the affordable care act

The United States Senate for the third time faced with difficulties in deciding about the affordable care Act, widely known as Obamacare. Only 51% of the votes instead of the required 60% was given for the repeal of the law.

According to Reuters, the efforts of Republicans, who initiated the repeal of the law, did not succeed. Despite the overwhelming number of Republicans in the Senate (52 to 48) supporters of Donald trump couldn’t pass a low barrier.

On Monday, the Senate Finance Committee must hold a hearing in order to gain more support and to stop criticism from Democrats.

Recall, healthcare reform and the protection of patients is considered the main achievement of the presidency of Barack Obama. The main purpose of the act – mandatory health insurance for 32 million Americans who do not have medical insurance. The program provides to persons under 26 years of age the opportunity to use the insurance of working parents.

In the seven years since the adoption of the law, the Republicans claimed Obamacare is unreasonable and excessively expensive government intervention in American health care. Donald trump called the repeal of the law one of their key election promises in 2016.

The Democrats do not want to give up and continue to support Obamacare. They say that people with chronic and serious illnesses are able to buy insurance, and the abolition of taxes imposed to pay for Obamacare, will create a budget deficit in 10 years will reach 353 billion.
