The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov stated today, 4 October, in an interview with the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that the United States and their coalition allies are satisfied with the «deadly provocations» against the Russian military in Syria. According to Lavrov, the US forces have «many questions»:
«Syria is a slave to U.S. forces ‑ a lot of questions. It supposedly accidentally hit by Syrian troops, after which the fighters go to the counter, «incite» other terrorists on the strategic locations where you restored the legitimate authority of the official Damascus, against our military personnel will arrange a deadly provocation. I should also mention the numerous «accidental» hitting civilian targets resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians.»
The Minister also said that from the point of view of international law, the coalition troops is «uninvited guests» in Syria.
According to Reuters, earlier on Friday, Lavrov stressed that, despite all the problems, cooperation continues.
«There are problems with cooperation between Russia and the United States in Syria, because not everyone accepts things the same way», — quotes Agency the words of Lavrov. «However, this is an example of how you can always focus on shared interests».
