The Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said on Sunday that President Donald trump instructed him to continue the search for diplomatic ways of overcoming the growing tensions with North Korea, saying that «these diplomatic efforts will continue until, until I drop the first bomb».
Trump «gave me to understand that I will continue my diplomatic efforts,» said Tillerson.
The Secretary called exaggerated messages written by trump on Twitter in September of this year. In particular those in which the President advised Tillerson «not wasting time» to negotiate with Kim Jong-UN.
Tillerson’s statement was made amid increasing tensions between the United States and North Korea after a series of weapons tests by Pyongyang, and a war of words between leaders of the two countries.
