Monday, October 30, the former Chairman of the election campaign Donald trump manufactu the Floor and his longtime business partner Rick gates was charged related to the investigation of Russia’s intervention in the presidential race of 2016.
After the arraignment Manafort were surrendered to the special Prosecutor , Robert Mueller, who is engaged in this investigation. It is reported by CNN, citing a source familiar with the matter.
Manafort entered the Washington office of the FBI at about 8:15 with his lawyer. It is not known what charges were brought against a Federal Grand jury in Manafort and gates. But in any case, this decision signals the beginning of a new phase in the investigation of relationships trump and Russia.
Recall that in late July, the FBI under the leadership of Muller, made a RAID on the house of Manafort in Alexandria, Virginia, and seized financial and tax documents.
Manafort first joined the Trump as an Advisor in March 2016, and three months later was appointed head of the election campaigns. Since the inauguration of Donald trump repeatedly called the investigation into Muller’s «witch hunt» and «a hoax».
