The scandal surrounding the social network Facebook, which recently was accused of propaganda, did not even think to subside. Wednesday the congressional Committee on intelligence published a list of ad positions, paid by the Russians, who were intended to exacerbate political divisions in the United States.
Advertising, which, according to Facebook, I noticed about 10 million Americans, refers to a series of topical and highly controversial political topics, including the movement of Black Lives Matter, LGBT rights, immigration, gun ownership , and of course, last year’s presidential election.
All publications presented at the Committee meeting dedicated to Russian subversive activities in social networks, were paid in rubles. Some of them appeared in Facebook in 2015.
Facebook said that the bulk of the advertising content, most likely related to the well-known Russian «Troll farm» under the name of Agency Internet researchthat uses fake accounts to protect and promote the interests of the Kremlin’s domestic and foreign policy.
