Russia said on Thursday that next week can take the «mirror» action against the us media working in Russia, in response to the request of the Ministry of justice on registration of the Kremlin-controlled news Agency RT (Russia Today) as a foreign agent.
The Ministry set a clear deadline: the registration should go through until Monday, November 13. The Agency justifies the requirements of the Law «On registration of foreign agents» in 1938 (as amended in 1998), according to which procedure is mandatory for legal entities and individuals, lobbying the interests of other States in the United States.
As the Los Angeles Times, the chief editor of RT Margarita Simonyan said that the Agency will check within the set of «cannibalistic» terms, but intends to appeal the decision of the Ministry of justice in court. Failure to register may lead to blocking of accounts of the company and the arrest of the editor-in-chief, explained Simonian.

Press Secretary of the MFA of Russia Maria Zakharova at the briefing, said that Russia is now considering the adoption of retaliatory measures against the media of the United States.
«I think our patience is nearly over, take a specific legal form. I do not exclude that it will be done next week», — said Zakharov in an interview with TV channel «Russia 24».
News Agency Russia Today was launched in 2005 and initially had a large budget. The money was provided by the Kremlin. The news channel is broadcasted in multiple languages in dozens of countries, promoting what he calls alternative views of the Western media.
