Six members of the house of representatives of the Democratic party today presented five articles of the U.S. Constitution, which, in their opinion, violated President Donald trump.
The congressmen believe that all of these offenses deserve impeachment.
Among the broken articles:
- obstruction of justice in connection with the investigation of Russian interference in the elections (and specifically, the dismissal of FBI Director James Komi);
- violation of the ban on compensation from foreign governments;
- continuing to receive profits from your business;
- as well as undermining the Federal court system and freedom of the press.
Recall, the Democrats in recent times have repeatedly stated about the necessity of impeachment. Today’s step is the first formality on the way to the potential review process, the Committee on judicial Affairs of the house of representatives.
«There are people who can think, Yes, they only want Mr. trump «self-destructed», but no. I just can’t be at the party, when the President, for example, allows the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis to do what happened in Charlottesville in the summer,» said Steve Cohen of Tennessee.
As reported by ABC News, Louis Gutierrez, the representative of Illinois, said that investigations of the special Prosecutor Mueller will go on their own, but Congress should begin to consider impeachment.
«It’s simple. If I see a crime, you are obliged to dial 911,» added Guttierez.
