The final decision about the arms deal to be taken by the commander in chief and Congress. Official Gosdepartamenta, whose name was not disclosed, said that the issue I plan to discuss at the meeting, which will take place in the next few weeks.

The U.S. government repeatedly raised the issue of supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine. In particular, in June of this year the Secretary of state Rex Tillerson and Minister of defence General James Mattis had insisted on the sale of anti-tank missiles. However, some White house officials fear that arming Ukraine increase tensions in the East of the country and will exacerbate the fragile relationship between America and Russia.

Note that the Senate has adopted the defence budget to 2018, which provides assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $350 million. The document removes a ban on the supply of lethal weapons of a defensive character.
