In Puerto Rico, Cuomo praised new Yorkers and criticized the Federal government

Governor Andrew Cuomo, for the third time after the hurricane on Saturday visited Puerto Rico, praised the hundreds of new Yorkers who took part in the restoration of the island, and criticized the Federal government, particularly the U.S. Congress, for failing to arrange adequate funding for restoration work.

Andrew Cuomo has accused the authorities in relation to Puerto Ricans as «second class citizens». He said that Washington is «wrong priorities» in this situation, preferring to tackle the problems of the state, not emergency assistance to the victims. Cuomo said that by the island, estimated at 94 million dollars were pushed into the background by the discussion of tax reform designed to help the rich.

«I do not believe that our Federal government has done what he ought to do,» said Cuomo in San Juan. «Puerto Rico is not a foreign country. Here live American citizens. They are our brothers and sisters.»

At the same time, the Governor thanked the more than 700 new Yorkers, among them doctors, builders, electricians, volunteers assist in the elimination of consequences of natural disasters in Puerto Rico.

Not to be outdone and Puerto Ricans. At the evening press conference, the Governor of the island , Ricardo Rossello thanked the Governor of new York for their active participation in elimination of consequences of hurricane. He noted that the inhabitants of the island are grateful to new York in the first place, for helping them «not in word but in deed».
