The inhabitants of Palestine revolted forthcoming statement by the President of the United States on the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, intend to defend their position concerning the Holy city. The protesters are aggressive, so Israel is already preparing to resist violence.
The first protest took place in Bethlehem. The participants in the demonstration burned a crossed-out photo of trump in just a few hours after the US President said the Palestinian and Jordanian officials about the planned statement regarding recognition of Jerusalem. Representatives of Palestine announced that henceforth the «peace talks» in the middle East is over. The Turkish authorities announced that they intend to hold a meeting of leaders of Muslim countries to prepare a common response to such a US move.
Israeli security is given in full combat readiness and intend to reflect the violence and stop mass protests. The head of intelligence of Israel Yisrael Katz warned that «violent protests will be a big mistake for the Palestinian army.»
«We are ready for any scenario», he added.
Hamas called on Palestinians Friday to protest against the recognition by America of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and transfer to the city the U.S. Embassy. Previously, the movement called for a new intifada in the case of adoption of such decisions by Washington.
The head of the Islamist group’s Ismail Haniyeh warned that the decision of the President trump will lead to a «dangerous escalation» of the conflict, which crosses the «red line».
The leaders of many countries, including the UK and China, expressed concern about the potential for increased tensions in the region and urged the United States to articulate a new strategy of peaceful settlement of the situation.
