Gold medalist: «I’m not going to introduce the President of the United States at the Winter Olympics»

Winner of the gold medal and double world champion Lindsey Vonn has joined a number of American athletes, who are opposed to President Donald trump.

American skier, who now trains in the Swiss town of St. Moritz, stressed that it will strive for victory for the American people, not the President.

Vonn, who won a gold medal at the Winter Olympics in 2010, will compete for a second award the following year in South Korea.

According to female athletes, she has a serious attitude not only toward competition, but also to what is happening under the country’s flag at the opening ceremony.

«I intend to represent our country. I don’t think many people in the government want the same,» said skier.

Vonn said that «in no case» will not accept the invitation of the White house in case of a victory in Pyeongchang.

Although many believe in the victory of the athletes, but its result can influence the injury, which occurred after her triumph in 2010. For example, in 2013, Vonn refused to participate in the Winter Olympic games because of torn knee ligaments. And last year she broke her arm in preparation for the world Cup.

Vonn is not the first athlete that does not support trump. Many players spoke out against the President after he proposed to dismiss the protesters during the national anthem NFL players.

«I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the President.»
