«What we saw here today in the Security Council, is an insult. It will not forget,» she said.

It was the first veto by the United States during the vote of the UN Security Council, for the last 6 years.

«We do it without joy, but not without desire,» she said. «The fact that this veto is used to protect the sovereignty of States and the protection of America’s role in the middle East peace process, not confuse us; it is to confuse the rest of the Security Council.»

However, SB has its own position. Before the vote, Nikolay Mladenov, Ambassador of peace in the middle East, said: «After the announcement of the decision by the United States … the situation has become more tense. Increased the number of incidents, in particular fired from Gaza rockets, as well as the number of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces.»
