The General Assembly of the United Nations, composed of 193 member representative, on Thursday, December 21, will hold an emergency meeting to finally decide the issue regarding the status of Jerusalem after the US vetoed a resolution condemning the recognition of the Holy City as the capital of Israel.
The meeting will be held at the request of the representatives of the Arab and Muslim States. It will once more be considered a resolution to Egypt to revoke the United States of its decision regarding the recognition of Jerusalem.
US Ambassador to the UN , Nikki Haley assured that this time the States will not abandon the use of the veto, if necessary.
«In the UN we are always asked to do more and give more. So when we make a decision, according to the will of the American people about where to place our Embassy, we do not expect that those who we have helped turn against us. Thursday will be a vote, criticizing our choice. US know their names,» she added.
An emergency meeting of the UN General Assembly held in exceptional cases requiring «collective action and strategies». All of history knows on holding 10 meetings. The last one, in 2009, was devoted to the occupation of East Jerusalem. The meeting, which will take place on Thursday, in fact, is a continuation of the previous one.
