By Paul Manafort, a former campaign Chairman of the trump accused of money laundering and 11 counts, filed a lawsuit that challenges the authority of the special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, claiming that the Ministry of justice broke the law in his appointment.
In a civil suit filed by Manufactum in the court of the district of Columbia, also mentioned the name of Deputy Prosecutor General kind of Rosenstein, which in may 2017 appointed Mueller to the position of spectracolor in the case of intervention of Russia in election 2016. He was also requested to monitor the activities of officials.
Manafort accused Rosenstein of exceeding its legitimate powers, «to provide Mr. Mueller carte Blanche to investigate and initiate criminal cases in connection with what he was about to face.»
The lawsuit also mentioned that spectracolor used in the investigation the testimony of Manafort on his relationship with the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, made 3 years before the appointment of Mr. Mueller as a consultant in the investigation.
Lawyers Manafort said (actually repeating the words of the President) that the investigation into Muller about Russian intervention in elections in 2016, deals with crimes that never happened.
The representative of the press service of the Ministry of justice responded to this accusation: «the Lawsuit frivolous, but the defendant has the right to submit anything you want».
In previous court documents, prosecutors said that he collected 400 thousand documents related to the cases of Manafort and his business partner, Rick gates, and pointed out that 2 thousand of them have special meaning.
Manafort, and gates pleaded not guilty and plan to appear before a judge in a criminal case on January 16.
