«What I do know: truth is the most powerful force that we have. I am especially proud of and inspired by all the women who were strong enough to share their personal stories. We are all in this year’s story,» said Winfrey from the stage.

«But it’s not just the entertainment industry. This applies to any culture, race, geography, religion or politics. So I want to thank all the women who for years endured abuse because they, like my mother, had children, whom they needed to feed. These women, whose names we will never know. It Winfrey present was met with a standing ovation, and Twitter fell dozens of messages calling for a media personality to stand for election of the President in 2020.

«The only thing I forgot to tell Oprah, «And I’m announcing my candidacy»,» wrote radio host Jojo Wright.

Even Stedman Graham, Winfrey’s longtime lover, hinted that she might be persuaded. «It depends on the people, he said backstage. — She would have done it».
