On Friday, January 19, on the eve of the anniversary of his inauguration, Donald trump became the first President, who spoke at the 45th annual «March for life» held Friday on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Trump addressed thousands of protesters via video link from the White House. During his speech he promised to continue to protect «the very first right in the Declaration of independence, and that the right to life.» President trump has admitted that he considers the law on abortion, the current U.S. «wrong», what needs to be changed.
«You all have a lovely spruce: to build a society where life is considered a gift where she is protected and cherished. You love every child, born and unborn, because you believe that every life is sacred, that every child is a precious gift from God.»
The President repeated his comments regarding the fact that in some States abortions can be performed at any time throughout the nine months of pregnancy.
«It is wrong and it needs to stop».
Mr. trump said that one of his first decisions after taking office was to restore the so-called Mexico city policy, presented by Ronald Reagan. This policy blocks Federal funding of NGOs that performed abortions or pushing for him for women through family planning.
The President also added that he strongly supported a bill that would ban painful late abortions nationwide. Trump has publicly called for the Senate to pass this law and send it to his Desk for signature and implementation.
Vice-President Mike Pence spoke to Mr. trump, calling him the President in American history, who all actively supported the protection of human life and ban abortion.
