Lavrov: the Congress has forced trump to make a decision on arms supplies to Ukraine

Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that President Donald trump has signed the law on deliveries to Ukraine of lethal weapons, because they were in a hopeless situation.

During an interview for the newspaper Kommersant, Lavrov said that trump had no chance to cancel the decision of Congress on the granting of arms. According to Lavrov, the U.S. President was convinced that legislators overwhelmingly overcome his veto.

«If the presidential veto to overcome, no matter how it was fair, justified and meet the long-term interests of the United States, it is a defeat of the President», – told the Minister to journalists.

Lavrov backed up his words by the fact that during the official meeting in the White house , the foreign Affairs Minister have not noticed any changes in trump’s promise to maintain «good relations with Russia.»

The Minister in the talks called the power in Ukraine is «absolutely incapable of reaching agreement». He stressed that as the United Statesand the European Union understand that Kiev is not going to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements. Thus, according to Lavrov, Western leaders can’t openly admit because they are afraid for their reputation.

The Laramie also raised the subject of investigation of Russian interference in presidential elections in 2016. According to the Russian Minister, the diplomatic relations of the Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergei Kislyak and adviser to trump the national security Michael Flynn are perfectly normal.

In early December, Flynn confessed to making false statements to FBI agents. A former adviser to trump announced that he had asked ex-Ambassador Kislyak «to refrain from escalation of the situation in response to sanctions imposed by the US against Russia.»
