Schwarzenegger to Trump: «don’t mess with California»

Former California Governor and Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger came to the defense of the state in which the property trump intends to lift the ban on offshore drilling for oil.

«Don’t touch California. If you want to drill, do it in Mar-a-Lago,» wrote Schwarzenegger on his page on Twitter, alluding to the favorite resort of the President in palm beach, Florida.

Don’t touch California. If you want to drill, do it off Mar-a-Lago. Or better yet, look to the future, follow CA’s lead & go green and we can all breathe easier. The US’s largest economy is nearly 50% renewable. #ProtectThePacific https://t.co/oRIrmRfbDM

The ex-Governor advised Trump and his administration to follow the example of California and contribute to the protection of the environment.

«In the fishing industry, the tourism and leisure industry employs hundreds of thousands of wonderful people,» added Schwarzenegger in the following tweet. «Our coast is an economic gold mine. Do not expose them to risk.»

The Schwarzenegger statement was a response to the initiative of the Executive office for the resumption of oil production in the coastal zone of California and Florida. The actor has supported the movement #ProtectThePacific, which calls not to issue new licenses for drilling.

Since 1984 in the Pacific region was not open, no one new point for drilling. In April of last year, trump signed a decree authorized the extraction of oil and gas in the coastal areas of the United States.
