Putin responded to the tightening of U.S. sanctions against Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to the approval by the U.S. Senate of a bill to expand sanctions against Russia and called the Senate action «harmful».
He said this in an interview yesterday, Saturday, June 17.

The bill still needs approval from members of the house of representatives and then sent to the President Donald Trump.
The decision to tighten sanctions was made because of alleged interference by Russia in last year’s presidential election in the United States. Extended sanctions can get companies working in the sectors of rail and shipping transport. In addition, the new sanctions may affect oil and gas industry.

«Whatever the decisions were taken over the ocean, it does not put us into a dead end. Something will have to adjust what we have to do something to draw attention, but it will not lead to stalemate and collapse. But it will, of course, to complicate Russian-American relations. I believe that it is harmful,» — said Vladimir Putin.

Putin also answered a question about the likelihood of response. «Yet to speak publicly about our response premature,» he said.
