The second amendment does not cancel never: trump

On Wednesday afternoon, after a long silence on the background of large-scale nationwide protests against free gun ownership, Donald trump expressed his position regarding this issue.

«The second amendment will never be canceled!» — he wrote on his Twitter page. «Against the wishes of the Democrats and despite the words of former Supreme court justice Stevens. No way,» he added, urging to vote for Republicans in the upcoming elections for Congress and stressing the need to control the court.

THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED! As much As Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!

This statement the President answered the words of former chief justice John Paul Stevens, who is convinced of the need to abolish the second amendment.

On Tuesday, the former official wrote an article for the New York Times magazine, which supported the young people opposed to unregulated gun ownership.

«These protests demand our respect. They demonstrate broad public support for legislation that would reduce the risk of mass murder of schoolchildren and other people in our society.

This support is a clear sign that it is time to prohibit the possession of semi-automatic weapons, to increase the minimum age limit for buying weapons from 18 to 21 years and to adopt more thorough background checks for all buyers.

However, activists should strive for more effective and lasting reforms. They should demand to abolish the second amendment,» wrote the 97-year-old Stevens.

Recall that the second amendment was adopted December 15, 1791. It guarantees the right of citizens to keep and bear arms and allows people to exercise the right to revolt mentioned in the text of the Declaration of independence, in the case that the U.S. government grossly violates his rights and the Constitution.
