The official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova commented on the arrest by Ukrainian border guards on 25 March in the sea of Azov , the Russian fishing vessel «Nord».
The ship escorted to the city of Berdyansk Zaporizhia region. On Board were 10 crew members. The speaker of the State border service of Ukraine Oleg Slobodyan said that the ship has violated the procedure of entry and exit in the temporarily occupied territory.
«There is another provocative stunt by the Ukrainian authorities against citizens of the Russian Federation. In relation to the crew of the Ukrainian border guards acted akin to Somali pirates,» wrote Maria Zakharova the official Twitter of the MFA of the Russian Federation.
According to Zakharov, the crew of the ship «Nord» had all the necessary documents for the implementation of fisheries in the sea of Azov, and carried out fishing in strict compliance with the applicable fishing regulations.
«We consider the action of Kiev as an attempt to take revenge on the inhabitants of the Crimea for their conscious choice in favor of returning to Russia made in March 2014. Demand the immediate release of crew and return the vessel «Nord» rightful owner,» — said Maria Zakharova.
