In Washington today hosted a meeting of Donald trump with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. This Twitter reported the press Secretary of the White house Sean Spicer.
During the press conference, the US President said that for him the «great honour» to welcome the head of the Ukrainian state. Trump noted that Ukraine is the region which now attracts universal attention, and America in particular.
The meeting was held with participation of Vice-President Mike Pence and Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.
Summing up the results of the meeting, trump called it «progressive».
It is known that one of the topics in the discussion of the presidents was the extension of sanctions against Russia. However, in a briefing following the meeting, any detailed or meaningful comments on the subject of the side not given.
President Poroshenko, in comments to the press following the meeting, said that he sees solid US position against Russia and considers the States as a reliable strategic partner. He also stated that the parties agreed about expansion of military-technical cooperation.
