The house of representatives slowed the adoption of anti-Russian sanctions

The Republican majority of the house of representatives suspended the vote on new sanctions against Russia, which earlier approved by the Senate.
Reported by the Associated Press.

Supporters of the sanctions hoped for a quick vote, but the bill is now transferred to the international Affairs Committee to assess its content.
If the House of representatives to change the bill and take it in a new form, it will have to harmonize the text with the Senate.
This decision provoked criticism from members of the Democratic party. So, Congressman Eliot Engel expressed concern, believing that «braking» of the process to anything good will not.
«The Republican party needs to do everything possible to make the project as soon as possible hit on the President’s Desk. Otherwise it will be lost effort to bring the Kremlin to justice,» said Engel.

In turn, U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said that too «aggressive» in the bill may lead to the termination of promising negotiations between Moscow and Washington.

Recall, the U.S. Senate has supported tougher sanctions against Russia for supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, as well as hacker attacks during the presidential elections in 2016. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the decision of the Senate «harmful».
