In the State Duma of Russia introduced a bill on criminal responsibility for implementation on the territory of the country of the sanctions of foreign countries.
The authors of the initiative — speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, a member of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, the leaders of the LDPR and the Communist party Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Gennady Zyuganov, as well as representatives of other factions.
Under the bill, «criminal liability is provided for actions for the execution of the decision on sanctions of the foreign state, or committed by a citizen of the Russian Federation of a deliberate action, contributing to the introduction of such restrictive measures.»
For the execution of sanctions of the USA and other foreign States «is offered to establish punishment in the form of a fine of up to 600 thousand rubles, either in the form of restriction or imprisonment for the term up to 4 years or the penalty of forced labor for a term up to 4 years.»
The offence, if the bill passes, would qualify as a crime of medium gravity.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that Russia fears no restrictions from the West. «Today’s restrictions, we help and not harm. We have better agriculture: we design our products successfully exported. Better steel and other industries. We have enough of everything: resources, production, and human brains. Therefore, the sanctions of the West, we have never been scared and will not scare» — quoted the leader of the liberal democratic party the official website of the party.
