July 25, congressional Republicans have introduced in Congress a proposal to declare the Deputy General Prosecutor Rod Rosenstein impeachment. The authors of the document mark meadows (North Carolina), and Jim Jordan (of Ohio). They were supported by 9 congressmen.
Lawmakers angered by the refusal of Rosenstein, in charge of the investigation of Russian interference in presidential elections in 2016, provide them with the necessary documents on the case. Earlier, Donald trump has repeatedly criticized the investigation.
«The justice Department is hiding information from Congress. There is a limit, — said in a statement Jordan. — It’s time to finally attract Rosenstein responsible for the obstruction to its constitutional oversight activities of Congress.»
The speaker of the house of representatives Paul Ryan voted against the impeachment of Rosenstein, and without the support of the leaders of the Republican party, it is unlikely that it comes to review. In addition to release from office of senior officials, requires at least 2/3 of the votes in the Senate.
