Trump argues that Americans need ID to buy food

During yesterday’s rally in Tampa (FL) President Donald trump said that Americans needed c photo ID to buy groceries.

Verbal incident occurred during the speech of the American leader in support of Republican candidate Ron DeSantis for the post of Governor of the state.

«That’s why it’s time for the electoral ID as any other, – said trump gathered crowd of supporters. You know, if you leave and want to purchase the products you want a picture on the card. You need ID».

President Trump, at his rally in Tampa, is pushing for voter ID laws and said you need to show an ID to buy groceries.

In fact, the Americans did not show ID to buy almost any product. There are some Federal and state regulations that prohibit the sale of alcohol or certain over-the-counter medicines without providing ID, but this does not apply to basic food products.

Social media users speculated that the misconception trump due to the fact that he personally had not visited any grocery store. And some called him «out of touch».

Speaking to a crowd, the President also spoke out against the idea of democracy that the citizens of the USA were able to vote in the election.

«Only American citizens should vote in American elections,» he said in his speech.

During his speech the President also talked about trade deals, unemployment and immigration, using mostly familiar rhetoric. He once again criticized Democrats for their views, including calls for the abolition of ICE.
