«Hell» the bill: Republicans and Democrats have prepared new sanctions against Russia

Yesterday, August 2, senators of both parties introduced a bill to toughen sanctions against Russia, which should «punish» Moscow for its intervention in the presidential elections and its actions in Syria and Ukraine.

The bill concerns the public debt of the Russian Federation, its energy and oil projects, as well as imports of Russian uranium. The new sanctions will not be spared neither politicians, nor oligarchs, nor the head of the country. The authors of the bill requires to prepare a report on the assets of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Only in document — 19 points.

One of the initiators of the bill, Republican Lindsey Graham (SC) said that the purpose of senators, «to impose crushing sanctions and other measures on Putin’s Russia for as long as he does not stop and will not cease to interfere in the US electoral process», will not stop the attacks and do not leave the Ukraine.

Previously Graham has announced a «hellish» the bill on sanctions against Russia. In the opinion of the party of President trump, the current restrictions are too weak to prevent her intervention in the midterm elections, which will be held in November. Graham and other proponents hope that the bill will be before the election.

«This bill is the next step in the crackdown of the Kremlin,» — said democratic Senator Bob Menendez (NJ), noting that trump has not fully implemented the sanctions. He hoped that after the adoption of the new law, Putin will finally realize that «the United States will no longer tolerate his behavior.»

In order for the law came into effect before the forthcoming election, it must obtain the approval of the Senate and house of representatives, and then head to the Oval office — signed by Trump.

The latest U.S. sanctions against Russia were imposed in June in response to cyber attacks aimed at the US and its allies. And in July americanski the Finance Ministry said it was ready to lift sanctions against aluminum giant RUSAL, which controls part of Putin’s inner circle billionaire Oleg Deripaska.
