The Pentagon denies the allegations of the Russian Federation in the use of phosphorus bombs in Syria

Today, TASS reported, citing a statement by the head of the Center for conciliation of the warring parties in Syria , Lieutenant-General Vladimir Savchenko, that the U.S. air force dropped phosphorus bombs over Syrian territory.

«In the province of Deir ez-Zor on 8 September 2018 with two F-15 U.S. aircraft struck at the settlement, Hagin the use of phosphorous incendiary ammunition. In the attacks, there was a strong fire», the statement said Savchenko. According to information from the Russian side, at the moment the number of victims is not known – information is specified.

During his statement, the Lieutenant-General stressed that these U.S. military actions are a serious violation of the Geneva Convention of 1949, according to which it is forbidden to use weapons with white phosphorus.

Press Secretary of the Pentagon denies these allegations. «At the moment we have not received any reports of the use of white phosphorus. said commander Sean Robertson — No military unit in the region did not even include any ammunition with white phosphorus».
